New born !

I haven't written for so long, because I've been so busy with my job (yep, I have won so much miles with the Flying Blue program during the last 3 months that I can have a round-trip ticket for Paris for free)... and to be honest, I wasn't in the mood to write something here... I dunno why...

Well, one of my very best friends, Cédric, is the happiest dad in the world (with his great wife Christelle, blessed mom) since their are the proud parents of little Baby Gabrielle.
She's soooo cute (I wanna have one like her... but in a very far future ;) ).
I decided to sew something very special for her... As every time, I did great projects, maybe too long/complicated regarding my planning and skills.

But, after drawing the patterns, buying the fabrics, washing/ironing/cutting them, I have sewn all the parts and I'm proud to present (yeah, I'm not afraid of seeming conceited ;) ) :

- a bib, like the one presented into the book "Les intemporels pour bébés"

and some close-ups of the bib...

- something I named "bavouillette" in French, which is untranslatable in English, sorry. To make you an idea, this piece is put on the dad/mom's shoulder, under the baby head to protect the dad/mom's clothes when the baby regurgitates (yuk !). I have embroided the baby's name on a piece of Aida fabric, then I have hand sewed it on the mop.

That's all folks :)

Ooops, not really all : go to Cédric Lefebvre's website. Cédric has nearly completed his studies to be an animator. He's really talented, I love his work ! I hope I will see his name in the credits of the future Pixar/Dreamworks/WETA pictures :)

  2. Thanks for your comment :)
It took a lot of time to embroider the name, I confess it (NEVER take a weird font when you have only a few time every evening to do your work !!!)
For the bib size, I watched some bibs at the supermarket to have an idea of what size will be OK for the baby.
